Subject to the overall responsibility of the Board of Governors and the responsibilities of the Vice Chancellor, the University’s Academic Board is the most senior executive decision-making body for matters relating to the academic provision of the University. The Academic Board is responsible for general issues relating to the research, scholarship, teaching and courses at the University, including criteria for the admission of students, policies and procedures for assessment and examination of the academic performance of students, the content of the curriculum, the quality and academic standards, the validation and review of courses and the procedures for the award of qualifications.

The Academic Board is also responsible for advising the Vice Chancellor and the Board of Governors on the resources needed to develop and support the University’s academic activities.
