Wrexham University Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship

The University offers a Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship scheme for taught postgraduate study.

To be eligible for the alumni scholarship, prospective students must meet the entry requirements for their chosen postgraduate programme of study, and be in receipt of an unconditional offer for entry on to that programme before the application deadline, as well as meet the enrolment and registration conditions.

The following fee-waiver is available to Wrexham University graduates who wish to undertake a full or part-time postgraduate taught degree programme at Wrexham University:

  • 20% for graduates who have secured a first-class degree
  • 20% for graduates with a 2:1
  • 20% for graduates with a 2:2

NB: This is not applicable to students studying at Franchise or partner institutes

How to Apply: Applicants who meet the Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship criteria and have received a conditional or unconditional offer of a place on a postgraduate programme of study, will automatically have the scholarship applied following enrolment. Careers and Employability support

Our Careers & Employability service is designed to provide impartial information, advice and guidance to students. We are a member of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS).

Our Services

  • Careers advice - make appointments to talk with a careers adviser and also EGuidance.
  • Jobs - we advertise graduate jobs, part-time jobs, vacation work, voluntary work, internships and placements.
  • Events - we advertise events such as coach trips to graduate fairs, employer presentations and interviews.
  • Free CV and application checking service - have your CV or application form checked to make sure you are presenting yourself in the best possible way.
  • Interview preparation - we can help on a one-to-one basis and also set up mock interviews.
  • Access to information- we can provide you with links to graduate websites, professional associations and also give you useful tips and guides.

Library membership

If you would like alumni library membership, you can either use your old student card (should you still have this) or use a Wrexham Library card.  If you do not have a Wrexham Library card you can apply for one online. In order to take up your membership please email our library on library@glyndwr.ac.uk to book an appointment. 

Conference and venue hire

Wrexham University has an award winning portfolio of conference and venue facilities and as alumni, you can benefit from a discount of up to 20% on hire.

The facilities range from lecture theatres and meeting rooms to the impressive William Aston Hall, with its state-of-the-art sound & lighting and capacity for up to 890 people, and the Catrin Finch Conference Centre, our multi-million pound conference and performance facility.

Our experienced team of conference staff will take responsibility for getting your event planning underway and will ensure the occasion is one to remember.

Sports Centre

Wrexham University boasts one of North Wales' premier sporting venues.

There is a wide range of facilities available at the sports centre and as a member of Wrexham University Alumni Association, you can benefit from discounted membership fees.

If you haven't already used the Fitness Suite, the light and airy facility can be found on the first floor of the Sports Centre on Plas Coch Campus. It has an aerobic area including bikes, treadmills, cross trainers and rowers, as well as an area dedicated to resistance equipment, including an Olympic bar and a selection of free weights.

Alternatively, if you're looking for facilities to play team sports with friends or colleagues, or are hosting a corporate or charity sporting event, members can also book indoor court facilities for a range of sports including badminton, basketball, netball and football. Additionally, there are two outdoor flood-lit pitches, a sand based pitch for football as well as the water-based hockey pitch.
