All our courses are jam-packed with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in your field of study.

This could be through using the University’s extensive facilities tailored to the courses we offer, through work placements, or through opportunities to enter competitions or showcase your work in exhibitions and performances. Creating opportunities that will enhance employability is always at the forefront of our thinking when we design our courses.

In addition, our Careers and Employability service is able to help you access work experience, part-time jobs and volunteering opportunities in order to expand your experience, make new contacts and develop valuable skills, all of which are essential to help you get your foot in the door of your chosen graduate career path.

Our online careers support gateway WGUconnect will help you find full-time and part-time employment and when the time is right, graduate vacancies. We also offer temporary vacancies on campus through the Student Ambassador scheme.

Our strong relationships with businesses and organisations in the region and the practical opportunities our courses have all help Wrexham Glyndŵr University to have the excellent employability record it has and our support doesn’t end when you finish your course either, as our Careers and Employability Service is on hand to help our graduates no matter when they finished studying with us.

GO Wales (Achieve Through Work Experience) Programme

If you’re under 25, studying full-time and struggling to find or identify suitable work experience, telephone 01978 293240 or email, to find out if you are eligible to benefit from the GO Wales Achieve Through Work Experience Programme. There is support available to help with travel to work experience opportunities, childcare, paid work placements and one-to-one support.

Work experience is essential if you're hoping to find employment once you graduate. We can help you to find out how you can make the most of your time here and access the best opportunities to increase your chances of graduate employment.

GO Wales: Achieve Through Work Experience is part-funded by the European Social Fund, managed by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and delivered by universities in Wales.

We run a series of employability related events throughout the year, including our annual Careers Fair and creative industry careers conference Creative Futures. We also host volunteering events, graduate support sessions and various other subject specific employer initiatives, aimed at introducing our students to the realities of their chosen career.
