"At Children's University we believe in limitless learning beyond the classroom"

Welcome to the North Wales Children’s University – Graduation Ceremony page for parents and carers.

Here you will find details on your child’s ceremony and how to book 2 free tickets.

The pinnacle of the North Wales Children's University calendar, is our Graduation Ceremonies that acknowledge and reward the efforts of young people across North Wales who are involved in the scheme.

They have been challenged to achieve a certain amount of hours (100 for our Community Groups and 30 for our schools) which they can gain by taking part in either extracurricular or volunteering activities. These activities take place at school at lunchtimes and at after school clubs, by going to activities in the community, run by organisations and individuals in the community (known as Learning Destinations) as well as completing online activities or challenges through the CU's newsletters and activity books.

In the past, we have celebrated with the Wrexham University choir, cosplayers, circus acts, Xplore! attend with STEM games and giant garden games. It is guaranteed to be lots of fun for all involved!

Graduation

Young people will receive a cap, gown and mortar board for free, to wear at the ceremony and they will receive 2 free guest tickets for their parents / carers to attend. Representatives of the school and community groups will also be invited.

Our next Graduation ceremonies are taking place in 2024 in a variety of locations across North Wales and we cannot wait to share pictures of the events, they will be a lot of fun!

  • The North Wales School pilot deadline for hours is 7th January 2024.
  • The City of Culture Community group pilot deadline for hours is 31st January 2024.

Those who have successfully achieved their hours will receive an invitation to the next ceremonies;

More details on the venue and timings will be included in the invitation to attend.
