The module aims to enhance students’ critical awareness of contemporary professional issues and their insight into the cultural, political and professional dimensions of leadership within health and social care organisations.

  • Develop your understanding of organisational leadership in healthcare.
  • Develop and analyse leaderships skills needed to manage projects.
  • Gain 20 credits at level 6/7 on completion.

What you will study

  • Critically examine theories of organisations and organisational leadership and management as applied to health care
  • Critically reflect on their own leadership style and attributes, analysing and evaluating the impact this could have on team performance, service delivery and development
  • Critically evaluate their role in both leading and working in partnership with other professionals, agencies and clients
  • Critically analyse leadership skills needed to manage projects/initiatives within the student’s field of practice.
