Care leavers/estranged where the local authority DOES NOT subsidise accommodation  Full-time  UG    50% reduction in rent A maximum of 5 on a "first come, first served" basis. Applicants must indicate they are a care leaver on their UCAS/Direct application form to be considered for this award. Award will then be applied following enrolment
NI and RoI Accommodation Award Full-time  UG  £500 25% reduction in rent Maximum of 10, and applies to WGU accommodation only, see Ireland Accommodation Offer T&Cs. Applicants must have a home address in NI or ROI to be eligible for this award. Award will then be applied on accommodation billing
Progression agreement Accommodation award Full-time UG £500 25% reduction in rent 25% off Wrexham Glyndwr University accommodation for those from schools or colleges with a WGU Progression Agreement.  This discount is available for the first year of study only.  There are a maximum of 50 scholarships available, on a first-come-first-served basis.  This will be decided by the date at which an individual applicant firmly accepts WGU’s offer to study. Applies to first year only. No application necessary - scholarships will be assigned based on when an applicant from a progression agreement school/college firmly accepted our offer to study with us
First Generation Opportunity Scholarship Full-time  UG £1,000 25% reduction in rent A £1000 cash award, and 25% off Wrexham Glyndwr University accommodation for those who are the first in their family to go to University.  This award and discount is for the first year of study only.  There are a maximum of 10 scholarships available.  Awards will be made based on expressions of interest sent to admissions@glyndwr.ac.uk after an applicant firmly accepts WGU’s offer to study. Applies to first year only.
Applicants must indicate on their application (UCAS or Direct) if they are the first in their family to attend University. This is done via the answer to the question 'Do you or any of your parents, step-parents or guardians have any Higher Education qualifications, such as a Degree, Diploma or Certificate of Higher Education?'.
Applicants who answer 'no' to this question should then submit the expression of interest form via this link.
Welsh Domiciled Part Time scholarship  Part-time  UG  £1,875   Top up for welsh domiciled students who apply for £2,625 SLC loan and the £1,875 gap to tuition fee credited by WGU. To be awarded to any student domiciled in Wales (as decided by SFW). No application necessary - will be applied when SFW funding received by the University
Post Graduate Scholarship for Glyndwr Graduates Full-time / Part-time  PG    20% reduction for 1st, 2.1 and 2.2 and for WGU online programmes a 10% reduction  With exclusions for certain course types, see our Postgraduate Funding page for more information on the WGU Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship.  Applicants must apply and accept their offer to study with us before the published deadline. No application necessary - eligible applicants will have discount applied on enrolment
Refugees and Asylum Seekers Full-time  UG   25% off WGU accommodation  A maximum of 5 on a "first come, first served" basis. Applies to first year only. Applicants must hold Refugee/Asylum Seeker status in the UK, be eligible to study and hold a firmly accepted offer with us.  Discount is applied on accommodation billing
Young Carers Full-time UG £1,000   Applies to first year only.  
Career change or career loss scholarships  Full-time / Part-time  UG £1,000   A £1000 cash award, for those who have lost their job or become unemployed in the last 12 months.  This award is for the first year of study only.  There is a maximum of 10 awards available.  Awards will be made based on expressions of interest sent to admissions@glyndwr.ac.uk after an applicant firmly accepts WGU’s offer to study. Applies to first year only. Applicants must have firmly accepted their application to study with us.  Following this, they should email admissions@glyndwr.ac.uk,  indicating that they are applying for the career change/career loss scholarship.  Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis, based on the date of this expression of interest  
Family support bursary  Full-time / Part-time  UG £1,000   A bursary of £1,000 per year to help with childcare costs. Students with pre-school aged children are eligible. Up to 10 bursaries available. Applies to first year only. Applicants must have firmly accepted their application to study with us.  Following this, they should email admissions@glyndwr.ac.uk, indicating that they are applying for the Family Support Bursary.  Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis, based on the date of this expression of interest
