Welcome

Wrexham University is based in North East Wales. Our main campus in Wrexham is ideally located to give students a memorable experience of studying in the UK. Wrexham is a safe and vibrant town with plenty to see and do. Only an hour away from the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester, with beautiful scenery, heritage sites and outdoor activities right on the doorstep, Wrexham is a great location for students to experience British university life.

We offer vocationally relevant courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a wide range of subjects, including business, engineering, science, computing and the creative arts. Our career-focused curriculums are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to help them gain successful employment and prepare them for life in the workforce after graduation. Students will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through work placements and the chance to showcase their work in competitions and exhibitions.

By choosing Wrexham University, you will become part of a friendly, supportive community. Our lecturing teams teach in small class sizes, meaning that students will be given the individual attention and support they need whilst undertaking their studies.

Entry Requirements

Undergraduate

Offers to start on the first year of one of our three year undergraduate degree programmes are usually made based on the results achieved in the Ardteistimeireacht (Leaving Certificate).

Most of our undergraduate courses will require 112 UCAS Tariff points; these points should usually come from your Irish Higher qualifications, although we will also take into account points gained from Ordinary Level certificates.

Depending on the course you apply for, we may require you to have certain subjects at B1 Higher Level. Please contact us for more details about this.

We will also consider applicants with QQI or FETAC and a typical offer would be a minimum Level 5 certificate with an overall merit profile of 3+ distinctions.

Applicants with a Higher Certificate from an Irish higher education establishment may be able to start on a later stage on one of our undergraduate degrees in the same subject area.

Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma with 26 points or more will be considered for direct admission to Bachelor degree courses

Postgraduate

For taught postgraduate courses, applicants with an honour's bachelor degree achieved in 3-4 years from a recognised Irish higher education establishment will be considered.
