I completed my adult nursing degree in 2005 at Bangor University. Once qualified, I went to work within the NHS. My first role was a staff nurse on a medical ward, then went on to become a sister in the Emergency Department where I gained many skills in all fields of nursing from minor injuries, critical care, and paediatrics.
My most recent role was as a Health Visitor and CONI Co-ordinator, where I undertook the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing course at Glyndwr University in 2016. I have a keen interest in public health and health promotion and have worked with vulnerable families within the community and have gained knowledge and experience within safeguarding of both children and adults.
In my clinical roles I have been a mentor and practice supervisor/assessor for students. I have worked within the NHS for 20 years and decided to follow my passion and interest for education and working with and supporting student nurses in their nursing journey.
I am keen to complete my Master’s Dissertation and to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate – Teaching and Learning Qualification in the future.
Outside of work I enjoy playing netball and spending time with my family.
