Professor Caroline Gray
Caroline graduated in Physics from LJMU, she has worked within the optical industry for over 35 years, her specialism is optical component manufacturing and testing with specific expertise in Single Point Diamond Machining and CNC controlled optical processing/polishing.
She previously worked for Pilkington Visioncare, Pilkington Space Technology (technical), Optics and Vision (optical design consultancy) and Phoenix Optical Technologies (MD & Technical Director).
Caroline is currently the Site Director of Glyndwr University’s OpTIC Technology Centre and is Project Director of the £7.2m Centre for Photonics Expertise Program.
What do you like to do in your spare time? My hobbies/spare time activities include sailing, cycling (MTB & road) and Triathlon. I am a qualified Personal trainer with my own Studio Gym and I also compete in the sport of indoor rowing both Nationally and Internationally and hold both European and World championship age group titles.
Generally I enjoy pretty much anything that takes me outdoors. Normally accompanied by my springer spaniel training partner. I’m married to Andy who is a development engineer and we have two children.
