Dr Jane Furness
I have spent over 15 years nursing in veterinary practices, from a student Veterinary Nurse to Practice Manager. Most of my nursing was in London, but I have also worked in Scotland, West Sussex, Nottinghamshire and the West Midlands, and even for a short time on a small island in the West Indies!
I have lectured at both FE and HE Institutions in a range of Animal and Veterinary Nursing programmes, as well as on the lecturing team at Coventry University for Human Biosciences.
As an experienced lecturer, my commitment and enthusiasm in providing students with an excellent learning experience is central to my role. Ensuring that my students are prepared for their chosen career path, with an understanding of their responsibility to life-long learning, is of key importance. I spend most weekends walking with my two Italian Spinones, Arco and Osla. When I am not out with the dogs, I am training for a half Iron-man, to be honest, I would rather be out with Arco and Osla any day!
