Biography

Jenna joined Glyndwr University in 2014 and is a Senior Lecturer on the Performing Arts BA (hons) Degree.
Jenna has extensive experience in Outdoor Performance, and has a background in Community Theatre and Circus.

She has worked for over fifteen years as a performer, deviser, and writer, and has written and directed full length adaptations for the degree.

As a performer, Jenna specialised in audience interactions and clowning, and is currently engaged in practical research into methods of non-verbal teaching, which incorporates clowning techniques.

This has been utilised across modules as a workshop tool and rehearsal technique, and has been incorporated successfully into her teaching.

Jenna enjoys wild swimming, and growing her own food -something which is increasingly important in terms of sustainability and protecting the environment. These aside, the majority of Jenna’s hobbies and interests are related to her creative practice.

Outside of work you can often find her doing…more work! This includes: performing, writing fiction, fire-eating, sewing costumes, and making stop-motion animation.
