Tegan Brierley-Sollis

I graduated with a 1st Class BA (Hons) Criminology and Criminal Justice degree in 2018. I am currently enrolled on the Postgraduate Research Degree at Wrexham University, where I am focusing on adverse childhood experiences and trauma informed practice.

Throughout my degree, I enjoyed a variety of voluntary work placements. This included volunteering for the Youth Justice Service as a Referral Order Panel Member and a Community Representative on the Bureau. I also volunteered with St Giles Trust, a service offering resettlement support at HMP Berwyn. I founded the Wrexham University Criminology Society in 2018 and stood as President for 18 months, during which time the society won Best New Society 2017 and Best Society 2018.

I was an active advocate for student voice at Wrexham University where I represented students at course level, faculty level and University level over the course of my undergraduate programme. This meant that I worked closely with the Students’ Union and sat on the student council. Prior to starting my postgraduate research degree and role as Graduate Teaching Assistant, I worked for the local voluntary council, where my role was to promote volunteering and encourage active citizenship amongst young people, manage a youth-led grants scheme and offer support to third sector organisations.
