Dennis Powell

Facilities Manager

Dennis came to post as WGU Northop Campus’ Manager in 2013. He became Green Champion and Unison Sustainability Representative in 2017, and since then has made it his mission to create a campus as rich in biodiversity as possible. Most recently, he has taken on the role of facilities manager for both Wrexham and Northop campuses. He now is responsible for waste, travel, managing WGU's estate in a bio diverse sensitive way, and has built collaborations with Flintshare the community led growing group and Plas Derw Forest School, which are both now based at WGU Northop. He is responsible for writing WGU’s biodiversity action plan, chairs the Fairtrade steering group and is currently working on a project, investigating installing a renewable energy source at Northop. Dennis was also voted Best Operational Member of Staff 2017/18 by the Students Union.
